Kim Porter

Kim Porter is a writer whose work has been acknowledged by The One Show (Silver Pencil & Finalist awards), Communication Arts, Clios, Advertising Age The Best Awards, International Broadcasters Assoc., Archive, Art Direction, Creativity, National & Northwest Addys, Honolulu Addys (including seven Best In Show Peles), People’s Choice and Special Judge’s Awards, among others. She was named Honolulu’s Advertising Woman of the Year in 2006.

A graduate of the University of Washington with a B.A. in communications/advertising, Kim also took concept and copywriting courses at the School of Visual Concepts in Seattle where she later went on to teach. Kim has worked in advertising/marketing for over 30 years at agencies including DDB Seattle and MVNP, Honolulu (a DDB Associate Agency) where she was senior writer/associate creative director.

She has written and produced national and local advertising campaigns for an array of clients including JanSport, Microsoft, Sprint, McDonald’s, KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Miller Brewing Co., Nordstrom, Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Ritz-Carlton,
